How do I find information about my problem?

There are a few ways to find information on the website.

Option 1: Use the website navigation.

  1. Click Legal Information.

  2. Browse the categories and select the one.

  3. Browse the next set of categories and again, select one.

  4. Select the title of an article, video, or other page that looks relevant to the information you need.

Option 2: Use the the search bar.

  1. Click the search icon, which is a magnifying glass at the top right of any Illinois Legal Aid Online page.

  2. Click anywhere inside the search bar.

  3. If you know the specific article, video, or page that you're looking for, enter the title. If you're not sure exactly what information you're looking for, try entering some keywords.

  4. Select an option from the suggested results, click the smaller magnifying glass to the right of the search bar, or hit enter.

  5. Select the title of an article, video, or other page that looks relevant to the information you need. ​

Option 3: Use Get Legal Help.

  1. Click Get Legal Help.

  2. Under My problem is about, enter some keywords related to the information you're looking for.

  3. Select an option from the suggested results.

  4. Enter your Zip code.

  5. Under What type of help do you want?, select Help finding information.

  6. Read and select the other checkboxes.

  7. Click Save.
