All Kids is an Illinois' program for children who need complete, affordable health insurance, without considering immigration status or health condition.
All Kids covers:
- Doctor visits and regular check-ups
- Hospital stays
- Immunizations or shots
- Hospital stays and emergency room services
- Prescription drugs
- Vision care, including eyeglasses
- Dental care
- Medical equipment
- Speech therapy
- Physical therapy
For the entire list see All Kids services.
Your child can qualify for All Kids if your child:
- Is a resident of Illinois
- Is 18 years old or younger
- Meets the insurance requirements for All Kids
- Has a family whose income meets the All Kids Income Limit.
Children can qualify for All Kids Assist Share and Premium Level 1 even if they have insurance. See the All Kids website for examples.
To qualify for All Kids Premium Level 2, a child must have:
- Been uninsured for 3 months
- Lost insurance because a job ended;
- Lost insurance because the insurance was COBRA.
For the most current income limit requirements, see the All Kids insurance requirements.
Even though the application for All Kids asks for proof of citizenship or legal immigrant status, as long as children meet the other requirements, they can get All Kids no matter what their immigration status is. All Kids health insurance will not affect your child's immigration status as long as your child does not receive long term care in a nursing home or mental health facility.
A child is not eligible for All Kids if they are patients in a mental health institution or imprisoned at a public institution.
Also, a child is not eligible if they can get health insurance and their family’s income is above the limits for the program.
