OrganizationPrairie State Legal Services, Inc.
Prairie State Legal Services' Lake County Illinois office seeks volunteer attorneys to participate in our weekly intake and advice clinics. Attorneys conduct intake interviews and may advise clients on a wide range of civil legal issues including family law, housing matters, and consumer and collections issues. Prairie State staff attorneys are always available to support volunteer attorneys and give direction regarding cases. Volunteer attorneys participate in a case acceptance meeting immediately after clinic hours to present their interviews.
Clinics are held each Wednesday afternoons at our Waukegan office at 325 W. Washington St., Suite 100 in Waukegan. The volunteer commitment is from 1:00 pm to approximately 4:00 pm. Volunteer attorneys MAY take on a case that they interview for further representation but there is no expectation or commitment that they will do so.
