Chancery Division Advice Desk - Daley Center

Chicago Legal Clinic

Richard J. Daley Center
50 W. Washington, Concourse Level-16
Chicago, IL 60602
United States

The Chancery Division Advice Desk (Desk) helps pro se litigants with cases in the Chancery Division - many of those cases are mortgage foreclosures. Volunteers provide brief advice, help litigants understand the legal process, and assist with the preparation of petitions, responses, motions, etc., so that litigants can more effectively present their cases. Volunteers make appropriate referrals when needed. Volunteers do not provide direct representation to individuals. Attorney volunteers must be licensed to practice in Illinois. Law student volunteers must have a 711-license. Training and supervision is provided at the Desk by Chicago Legal Clinic attorneys. Applicants should send an email to Lucy Torres, Volunteer Coordinator, at ltorres@clclaw.org. and attach a resume.

About the Organization
